    Default MSN Site Description Discrepancy

    I just peek at MSN, did a search for my main keywords of Boulder Colorado Real Estate , and the site description that MSN displays is cimpletely different from the description meta tag on my index page.

    MSN Reads:
    Residential broker offering property listings and community information.

    My index.htm meta-tag description reads:
    Boulder Colorado Real Estate expert advice. Search all Boulder Colorado Real Estate Listings from the Boulder Colorado MLS!

    Any idea on what is happening?
    285 Columbus Lofts - New 63-unit Boston loft development in the former Red Cross building
    FP3 Boston Condos - FP3 Fort Point Channel Boston Seaport Condos
    Boston Real Estate - Providing Google Map based search of condo developments

    I noticed that the same thing happened to mine a few weeks ago. It loooks like MSN is not taking the description from the meta description of my home page. But the description they are using is word-for-word the same as my description from the DMOZ directory. huh?

    Anyone else notice this?

    Hey Tom! Long time no see round here - I noticed the same thing it makes sense as most people have overly SEO'd descriptions or none at all, so why not pull the DMOZ dump if you can get it and use that for results.

    Jeeez - If I'd known they were going to do that, i would have written a more lengthy description for DMOZ.

    Just posted in my blog about this. You can now get msn to not use DMOZ descriptions if you don't like them. Take a look at my post "MSN.com and ODP descriptions"

    Solid Ken;

    Thanks for the info...

    Seems the switch has momentarily vaulted me to #1 in MSN....(I was #3 before...). The momentarily part is of course until the other folks change course.

    Cheers
