Thread: ROI and resources

  1. #1

    Default ROI and resources

Is anyone interested in sharing their resources on obtaining Printed materials and discussing the costs of these materials as it relates to Cost per item (not ROI ).

I mean of course, internet resources. Since some of us might use local printers which doesn't help the rest of us if we don't live in that area

    Example:

The only things I order pre-printed are business cards, and pre-printed notepads and things with magnets to which I can attach my business cards.

Post cards and the like I print myself and just buy the card stock. I calculated the cost difference of having them pre-printed and just adding the addresses to designing them and printing them myself (including the cost for toner/ink and the cost per postcard/paper).

Considering the minimum order qty to purchase pre-printed items, the savings was quite interesting.

    Just a thought.

My marketing person turned me on to them...she's used them for quite a while.

We print our own as well. Even better, we just recently purchased a Canon color copier so our cost per print radically dropped making it even more viable.

With that said, there is nothing that beats the glossy postcard look. We've used overnightprints.com - they have great prices. Since we've streamlined several of our processes, printing 5000-10,000 at a time is realistic for us.

We print our own here as well. Simply cheaper and more convenient.

    Hi Jessie.

For real estate postcard info and tutorials, you might want to check out a site called PostcardSmart.com. It's unbiased (not a postcard vendor), so it provides pretty good info. It covers all kinds of topics, but somewhere in the nav menu you'll see a "real estate" link.

Hope that helps you in your research. Good luck!

    Jessie,

I have worked at a promotional products company in the past that sold both pre-printed and stock products (like the magnets you can attach a card to.)

The big advantage of getting ordering them printed is the time saved. So if you're doing a small project, it's probably not worth going custom.

If you're doing a large project and you figure in both prices and time required, getting your material preprinted will probably pay off.

And who wants to spend their Saturday attaching business cards to magnets anyway?!

I have used Direct-Color.com for post cards. $349.00 per 5000. If they do not have what you want, you can custom design it, or if you find it someplace else you just have to send them a sample and they can do it also. I would like to print my own cards but currently have 2 Konica/Menolta 2300DL color laser printers which will only do 24# paper of lighter. Thinking about getting one of there new printers such as magicolor
5430 DL which can be gotten for $475.00 and can print card stock.

Overnightprints.com has pretty good prices on postcards, business cards and flyers and the quality of their prints and paper stock is awesome.

I agree, we also use overnightprints.com and have been very happy. We get the U/V coating on both sides and they look fantastic.

We generally order 1,000 at a time and get them pre-printed with our postal indicia. We then do a carrier route mailing, so the cards do not need to be addressed, and the postage is only $0.127 each.

You can have them mailed for .07 a piece?
