Default Do you include other companies in your campaigns?

    Hello all,

I'm just wondering if you ever include other companies when you do any type of mail marketing.

    whether it be postcards/fliers etc...

I mean contact another company in your area that would also benifit from this and share the costs?

And maybee provide a small section of your listing for this company.

    Does this work.

    Thanks.

Cooperative advertising does have advantages such as shared advertising costs and positive association (where applicable) with the advertising partner.

I'm not sure if this is the subject you are talking about, if not my apologies:

We have begun to offer advertising to several local businesses in our print and email ads (no other Real Estate Companies or agents).

For instance, in our newsletter, we have interest from a local Dry Cleaner, lawn service and a few others. We haven't begun accepting them yet as we are still getting our hands around the pricing. However, we are leaning towards accepting a few per newsletter to cover our costs as long as they are relevant to RE.

    Yes jessiesc,

Thats exactly the thing i was wondering about.

Contacted a company yesterday about it but i'm sure they quoted me more than they pay for the whole thing.

    Thanks.

I usually recieve fliers on a regular basis from Real Estate agents. I have never seen any other companies appear on the fliers, and if they do its usually just a referal for another member of the company.

Although adding local buisness's that are Real Estate related is a good idea, it definately would help to cut costs on making the ad.

Ok, now that I'm track hehe...

What we are doing for our pricing for these ads (they will be typically small 2"x2" ads) is try to divide the cost of the mailings evenly.

Example: If we allow 2 ads we will divide the cost by 2. Our expenses to create the newsletter is very low, the only significant cost is the postage.

So if we mail let's say 200 (which is the minimum for bulk rate postage), that cost is approximately $48.00 (u.s.) so the cost of the ad is $24.00 each (or .12 for each address) and goes down dramatically with more addresses (btw, this is a great way to get the advertisers mailing list hehe).

I think this is very fair for the advertisers as I don't believe they can advertise for less than that anywhere!

A few of the advertisers have expressed interest in placing a coupon in their ad. This is a very tricky area, as coupons are not always allowed in all states (u.s.) in all types of print materials depending on the type of offering.

That is basically why we haven't begun allowing it yet, as I need to find out what is and isn't allowed.

But it's a very effective way to cut costs on advertising and gain some community support

    Just my opinion of course.

I have done lot's of advertising with other companies. Mainly lenders and title companies but have also had financial planners, insurance agents etc. write or provide articles for our newsletters and share in the cost of mailings.
