Default Anyone else getting slammed by the Inkbot and ask Jeeves

I just noticed on one of my sites the the Inktomi bot and Ask Jeeves bot have visited around 60 times in the last 2 days Anyone else seeing this?

What might this mean seo-guru's ? I've seen lots of visits but that seems a bit much or am I just paranoid

I havent noticed those bots hitting my site much at all. Did you pay for inclusion? if so that would explain it but if not ..wow Rich I have no idea

    Hi Wayne,

No Paid inclusion at all. Just listed in the Yahoo Directory and have quality inbounds.

I'm seeing the same thing. No paid inclusion for me either and my site is not in the Yahoo Directory.

In the past I would only see Ink and Jeeves come by once a week, but it has been everyday this month so far.

Also, I consistently have pretty good placement on Yahoo, and that makes me think that paying for Inktomi inclusion and a Yahoo Directory listing seems to be optional.

Interesting... I've seen sites where an intelligent argument could be made both ways. Anyone else have any thoughts on whether the directory is worth being in other than for the traffic from the directory itself ?

It wasn't that long ago that I still wasn't in the yahoo directory.. They pulled my office address from another directory to get the informantion, and indexed me under that location.

    Hi Jeff,

Did they index your site or put you in the directory for free?

I was put there for free.. 98% of my igotrealestate site is in the sandbox. I changed all my file names adding KW to the file names.. so all my pages lost PR except the ones I didn't change..
