That is a generalization that is not accurate. Content has nothing to do with crawl rate. Slurp and MSN crawl just about everything, even penalized pages. With googlebot, crawling is determined by links and page rank.Originally Posted by corelevel

I have actually been running experiments with MSN, mainly because that is the only SE that cares about my right now.
Take a look at my home page and the verbiage | key words | and stuff
at the top of the page, above the search box.
Any time I change these, it takes 72 hours or so for me to show up in the SERPs for those key words.
I change or add a paragraph---same thing "Collierville Real Estate" paragraph is a test run.
I am trying to do it with out killing any chances of getting a good SERP with "G" when the time comes.
Bottom line---- MSN is easy to manipulate with tweaking, adding, Bolding, etc.

MSN loves spammy links as well.
Jessie,
I agree with Corelevel. Try to pepper you page a little more with keyword phrases that you're trying to rank for. Here's you meta:
<meta name="keywords" content="Panama City Florida Real Estate | Panama City fl Real Estate | Panama City Real Estate | Panama City Fl Condos for sale | Panama City Fl Commercial Real Estate" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/design.css">
If you want to rank high in MSN, I'd find a good phrase, like you have above, but who told you to use the pipe symbol in your meta section? I think a comma may work better, though I use a pipe symbol in my title tags but only twice. Do you have a tool like good keywords? gkw is available free of charge at softnik.com While this program isn't perfect, it is usually a pretty good indicator of what is being typed in at the engines. It uses overature results, so Google, MSN are going to be bigger numbers. I have ranked #1 at MSN for my main mortgage site using both on page and off page techniques. I think your phrase Panama City Florida Real Estate is too long. These are the ones you might try to target.
panama city beach, panama city, panama city beach florida, panama city florida, panama city beach fl hotel, panama city fl,
Sorry for not responding to this thread in awhile, we've been extrememly busy (fortunately).
So to answer a few of the questions:
On MSN: We currently rank #1 with "panama city fl real estate" this is our main phrase, we rank #8 with "panama city florida real estate" and #4 with "panama city real estate" so from the looks of things we have gotten to page 1 in 3 months and all in all I'm happy about thatWish we could just get into Y and G so I can discontinue my PPC
As for the pipe -
I read in several SEO guides and articles that replacing the comma with a pipe character, betters your chance of placement because it shows up as the pipe and not a space (something like that, can't remember where I read it but I read it several different places). It seems to have worked.
I have our keyword phrases pasted all over the first page and pretty much on every page through out the website, at least as much as I can make sense to do so. We currently have 165 pages on the website and it grows weekly.
I use h1 tags on every page of the site for our main phrase and use h2 for the secondary KW's.
As for crawling, we are crawled nightly by 10 different crawlers including msn, G and Y but have as of yet placed in G and barely noticeable in Y (I think we're down at 300 something in Y and nowhere to be found in G - I HATE G!)
We use PPC on G and Y to keep us on page 1 of those engines which is working for the moment as we get alot of phone calls and business from them.
From time to time, I add some content to page 1, but only a paragraph at a time. I doubt I will create additional page 1's and swap them out at the moment. If I don't see us improving our ranking by the end of the year, I will consider this. Thanks for the suggestion.
As for the original site I posted about, they have since disappeared from msn and I don't care as long as I'm #1They have also disappeared from Y now as well.
Thanks everyone for your input and comments. They are read and considered and we value everyone's time for posting.

Keep Getting some good quality links going (link exchange)
aggresively if you can..also for some very good one way link, submit some articles to those Article Directories. MSM ain't bad ..one of my site get's a lot of visits from msn users (mostly unique's)..
wasn't it matt cutt (maybe someone as big) that mentioned - it doesnt matter if your keywords dont show on your webpages as long as your Anchor Text have your main keyword and other useful stuff...something near that![]()

you think that the google algo and the msn algo have an inverse relationship. Probably not, but just a thought.
