Default The Best Software for VR Tours

I am doing a little research on what is state of the art in the real industry for 360 tours/video tours.

Looks like they are pretty much the same you have two choices java or flash. Does anyone use quicktime?

what software do you think is the best?

what software do you think is the worst?

360 degree cameras has anyone used one?

    Thanks in advance

Maybe we can give the winner a prize

I know there is an Applet that you can download for free if you have "Open Realty" installed.. it's a mod of OR and works very nicely.... (best part is it's free)

All you do is stich a few photos together with photoshop and boom, uploaded it to the listing... if you don't want to make a lisitng just make one, keep it offline and add the VR to it then use the link for your MLS or site.

    That's Cool San,
.. Hows that open realty working for you? I had it up on a site about year ago but it seemed a little bugy but it "mostly" worked and pretty for good for free.

    I'll take a look-C at the 360 stuff.

I was looking to see what the best of the best high quailty... price is no object kind of software is

Mostly for my own enjoyment. Seem like the price point for the VR stuff I have seen is about $99.00. From what I hear, it is that it's pretty hard to get an agent to pay 100 bucks for a tour.

I wanted to stay away from java apps if possible because if you have a slow connect and are on dial up and happen to be "click happy" like me those java apps kinda suck. Even if your on a high speed conection you just spin a round WOOO - HOOO

I like the flash ones because what you can do with the layout and controls but the down side is that the files take longer to download.

Maybe I could just offer wide views of photo stiched pics for the people that are on dial up?
    Who are those people anyway?..lol

As for open realty, it was pretty bug free when I used it just recently... however, it was too much work to do to upload everything into it and the mls as well. I never went with it on the site, just in the back ground for testing... The only thing I am going to keep it for is the VR... why pay for someone else to do it...lol

I have used the flash ones, the java ones and the Open Realty mod one and the OR mod seemed to work the best and look the best to me... Load time didn't seem like much... even on the 56k Dial up my buddy has (yes, some people still do have dial up...lol - I don't know why but they do) anyhow, I recently erased all the OR stuff off the backend of my site but I'll see if I can get into again just to show the VR... you might like it...

I have seen software by MGI that stiched them together fairly well, but it didn't seem to work as a "player" for it online... so I put it into the flash file and there you go....lol (I also use the camera software to stich... the rest is easy from there with flash)

I recommend virtual tours. Email me if you want info about ours, on our site (I don't want to publish this on the board).

It's an applet. We have examples on our website (go to our site, in the signature, choose Historic Houses, then choose Carmichael House for a good example of a house tour.

If you want to be state-of-the-art drop the 360 photos. They were a neat gimic however the results was never with the effort. If you want your site to be top of the line, use good high quality photos. Make them large with good resolution. Last replace the 360 photos with movies.
