    Question Website Dummy Needs Reviews

Hi - new here, and new to website building. Had to take the "trial by fire" self-taught course in web design using Fusion 7.

Market is not very good here, hence I don't have any money to pay someone to help me with this...so I'm doing the best I can.

I am trying to hit a very specific niche market, specifically motorcycle enthusiasts in my area (aka "bikers"), and consquently my web site looks and feels a little different from most. But you have to remember my intended audience.

So far, only my home page has been indexed by Google. And none of the other search engines have indexed anything on my site. My site is only 2 weeks old. Anyone have suggestions for helping me at least get ON the radar screen?

If any of you have time, would you mind taking a look at my web site and letting me know what you think? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated (well, except for nasty or sarcastic ones)!

    Thanks a million!

    The site is www.staciecarlson.com.

    Phoenix7232002, welcome to the forum.

I'm positive you will find plenty of great information and help here to get you well on your way.

By the way, it's a good thing I speak "Martian" or I would not have understood:

buying or selling Colorado real estate?
don't even think about calling anyone else!
I have over 13 years of experience,
and I still negotiate with bared teeth!

hmmm Color choice I alway vote against black ( even though I have a couple black sites but if it is your only site, I would go for more happy and cheerful colors) You never know who might find it . You could certainly bike it up to get you niche across

    Links opening in new windows

add some alt text to your images

keywords in the title tags nothing more

    yada yada yada

the weather.com link usually goes to a page were they sell advertising links to other realtors .

There is a lot of good work there for the first time

    Thanks for responding.

What was "martian" about the text you quoted? I don't understand. Is it too "realtorspeak"?

Also, you mentioned "check your font". Can you explain.

Sorry...don't mean to sound like an idiot, but I'm new at this web site thing.

Thanks for the advice... however, being the website dummy I am, I got the color part, and the weather.com part, but if you have a minute, could you elaborate on what you mean but the other comments? If you don't have time, I understand...

You are using a font, "Fantasy" I believe, for the paragraph:

"buying or selling Colorado real estate?
don't even think about calling anyone else!

I have over 13 years of experience,
and I still negotiate with bared teeth!"

For people like me who do not have that font installed and using IE6 the text looks like "Martian" text.
