Depending on your host, you might consider looking into duncan carver's tool (unix running apache is required), it's free, and pretty robust.

I used esyndicat for a few of my directories. But check out my site for a great way to automate your links and link requests.

Linkmachine has worked well for me and if you read through the documentation you can integrate it into your site structure such that it looks the same as the rest. Quite happy with the results thusfar.

Looks like everyone here has already spoken up .. But I have a suggestion. Save your money and invest your time putting links were your customers are. Think about it, other than to exchange links when was the last time you really went to someones link directory.

And if customers arent seeing it the why do it , cause google really doesn't seem to care anymore. I would try to make the shift to blogging software and content generation which shouldn't be that hard for a magazine. The web is smarter now that its ever been first Google them MSN and it appears that Yahoo won't be far behind. So You have to be smarter and use the free tools at your disposal.

If your interested here is an article might be of some help

    Hi Aaron,

You have a great real estate website! I've been researching new link software and have looked at linkmachine. You have it on your site and it integrates nicely. I've read the documentation, not installed as yet.

    Couple of questions
    • Did you purchase the paid version and if so, just for checking links for for other features?
    • Do you use the instant links part of the program and does it work and do other agents use it too?
    • I've not downloaded the trial version as yet, it's a full function version, just a 10 day link, but was it easy to install?
    • Does linkmachine create an sql database?

Again, I really like your real estate site, nice work!

Thanks for your comments and input,
    Mark
