Print media works much like web sites. If you put out the same old garbage as everyone else expect the same shitty results everyone else is getting. If you put out quality/well designed ads with calls to actions on a consistant basis you will get lots of business.

    Hey

I have been using a newpaper company called custom house publishing. Its a 12 page print newpaper that is delivered to my farm. he paper is a full sized paper.

It runs .44 cents a copy delivered. The volume that I print 15k reduces it to .35 cents delivered. Both black and white pages inside.

They write great content for the interior pages. I customize the front cover with (MY WEBSITE NAME AS THE NEWSPAPER NAME) Live Bellingham and I write the article for the front page. The back cover is a bunch of my listings 25+ properties. I customize another inside page for more listings and (CALL TO ACTIONS) IE Free home value estimate, Visit Bellinghams most powerfull real estate website, and stuff like that.

When I started I did not have enough listings so I started asking other agents if they would like there properties advertised and most said yes. I use the listings to get more buyers for my buyers agents. Using call capture and directing people to the website.

The smart thing I did was I started selling advertising, I have a lender, title, escrow, inspector, retail stores, restaurants, and so on. They cover most of the cost of my 15000 copies now.

I also buy unmailed copies for .20 each that I leave in doctors offices, restaurants, and so on. The newspaper is an incredible listing tool. It also helps with my branding. I have just added some more towns that I change the header for so it looks like it belongs to the other town so now I have Live Bellingham and Live Ferndale.

For the price and ease I could not make a better copy and the zip codes are exclusive.

Hope that helps and if any one you want to see one I would gladly have my assistant mail you one. Just send a mailing address.

fascinating concept, I will definitely look into it more.

I assume the company you use is homesnewspaper dot com?

Can you give any numbers as far as ROI?

Do they research your town and write articles specific to your area?

    thanks

I hope this is pertinent to what you want. I buy alot of magazine advertising but in mortgage magazines. There are some magazines that I am a repeat customer of and a couple that don't work. I buy classifieds and display. I'm always surprised when I have to beat on these guys to make changes to the way they do business so I can track my results. I would think publishers would encourage this!??
