Definitions of Hidden Text

• This refers to text that is the same color as the background on a web page. (placed there for the search engine to read, while the user does not see it.) It was one of the original black hat techniques that site owners used to influence search engines results. It is now easily filtered by the search engines, and using hidden text could result in a search engine ban. This definition of Hidden Text contributed by jimolenbush.
