Definitions of Search Engine

  • A search engine is an online website that allows users to find web content by entering a keyword or phrase. The search engine maintains a database of web pages which are typically compiled by special robots called spiders which follow hyperlinks from one web page to another caching the content of those pages as they are encountered.
