Default Re: Skinny or wide template from REW?

My area may be very different than yours???

Anyway here are my results from the last month;

Screen Resolution [reverse sort direction]

Screen Resolution [reverse sort direction]

Visits
1. 1024x768 - 942 44.06%
2. 1280x800 - 395 18.48%
3. 1280x1024 - 213 9.96%
4. 800x600 - 144 6.74%
5. 1440x900 - 110 5.14%
6. 1152x864 - 75 3.51%
7. 1300x1300 - 62 2.90%
8. 1680x1050 - 50 2.34%
9. 1280x768 - 49 2.29%
10. 1280x960 - 19 0.89%

I made a decision that having the best display for 90% plus of the market was worth the downside of the 6 to 7%.

I agree, and I put my money on it.

Do you want to build for today and tomorrow or build for yesterday?

Having been through this in html versions compatibility with browser where I used older standards until I was practically forced to change just so I wouldn't lose the people who had old equipment and software. Then I realized I should be going with the majority and working on 'Tomorrow's Techs & Specs Today' ( Sounds Good IJMTU), to actually be running a business that will actually be just barely current.

I also believe it will bring in more business to Wow the people that can view the wide format, then I'll lose by making it so the people on 800x600 think it looks bad. JMO

Thanks everyone, this has been very helpful and truly allot of professional opinions and stats. A great post by Pine Hurst Real Estate Guy "Do you want to build for today and tomorrow or build for yesterday?" I think that's a great way to look at it also. Screens / Resolutions are only getting bigger. I will post again along the lines once I am up in my area and can post some stats for others to use as "keystoflorida" did......WIDE IT IS!
