Can a yahoo directory listing have any effect on Google serps?

bottom line, yahoo directory will give your business additional exposure which can't be bad for business, also if your competitor is listed, I would imagine you would want to be close by.

Right now, my yahoo directory listing is on page 2 for dallas real estate, position 18. If you give it a chance, it will bring you some results

As far as google is concerned, yahoo is a respected authority which does have some bearing on google and when combined with all your other SEO efforts, should produce positive results

I would think that the Yahoo Directory is considered somewhat of an authority site by many of the search engines - I would think it would be almost as valuable as a link from DMOZ. Noone knows for sure of course, except the people at G, but good directories are generally recognized as good sources for SEO and Yahoo is likely a good one to be in if you can afford the price tag.

I dont think the yahoo directory is that important, and certainly not important enough to pay the money for it. I have great rankings without using it.
