I listed 2 homes directly across the street from each other last fall. They were located near the entrance of the neighborhood where everybody that lived there had to drive by our signs everyday. It worked out just fine. In fact, I just got a new listing on Monday directly because of those 2 listings. The seller e-mailed me and told that I was the guy to talk to about selling his house in that neighborhood. He was sold on me before I even walked in the door because of those two listings.
