Default Help Please..signing up for BPO's

Please offer me any sage advice concerning signing up as a vendor to provide BPO's. I did an initial search online for Asset Managers, and registered w/ a couple. Does one followup? If so, what is the best method to employ. Any advice based upon your personal expierence would be so appreciated.

It's a good life!

Kaykorbel,

I see BPO's as a dollar per hour issue. How many listings do you currently have? If you don't have any listings, BPOs may be worth your while. However, my experience tells me that they don't pay enough to be worthwhile for the cash alone.

Another thing to consider, BPOs are not all created equal. Some are ordered simply for an opinion of value (i.e. when considering whether a bank should take a short sale) while others are definitely going to be listed and sold, often with the person who does the BPO.

That is a long answer, but I would not make a habit of doing BPOs. I would become a master of finding new business.

I agree with TA. I did a few of them for some national agencies and while they are a quick 80 bux for most of them (drive by plus interior) you'll be better off taking listings or even working buyers. It was a good experience though. I got a lot of practice doing CMAs and justifying my work which helped. If you are new to the business it's a good way to get practical hands on experience. I might do some for the right BPO company since if you can do one in an hour (close to your house/work) and you know the area it can be ok.

Oh yeah, and to answer your questions there are websites that allow you to sign up for BPOs. I forget the URls, but search for BPO and you'll find some.

Joe

Well, I'm pretty much a workaholic so I don't mind doing the BPOs while I'm out running anyway...I would love to pick some up but I'm sensing that the membership here do not find value in the extra few bucks!
