The whole concept of social networks and Real Estate is to be known and trusted. Thru social networks, you can achieve both!

social networking is all about extending your network. you dont need to use every social net, but you should have a presence on the ones that show who you are. build a profile on all and see which ones help most. real estate is all about networking. the more people you know and the more places people can find you will help your biz plan.

I agree with you, but the problem I have with social networking sites like Facebook, which is one of the best, is that it takes too long and too much active work to build your network. I don't know about everyone else, but I have a business to run and a lot of work to do and I don't have time to go out searching for people and sending out invitations on MySpace or Facebook. And the benefit of using these sites doesn't seem to justify the time commitment to really make them work. Thoughts?

You can't build much of a relationship or network in 5 minutes - this is true but the good news is you can cook dinner in about that long.

Even dinner is not gonna be as good as the ones mama used to spend 3 hrs on.

I have a MySpace account which has never generated a lead for me. I have not yet joined Facebook. Does anyone know if Facebook produces better results than MySpace or can I expect the same type of results? Not opposed to new things just don't like spinning my wheels.

Don't expect facebook to start rolling in leads for you. Thats not the purpose, it might take you an hour of your life to create a profile, but if one person from High School sees you or notices you're in real estate and ends up calling you then it was worth it. It's the combination of all these different networking sites that brings it all together. If you get one lead every 5 years, it's still worth it.

You hit in on the nose Mark. The whole idea again is to get your name out there and have people relate real estate and you in the same sentence. Just to let you guys know again I have turned 2 deals from myspace, so it happens.
