Wow, I had no clue that was against their guidelines. I am rather new at web site marketing. How does that work though? They were purchased in a directory for real estate services. How is that any different than Yahoo? Just curious.

If your websites and blogs are all hosted on the same server or same ip address, the benefit to any of them would be very little. But if they are hosted from different ip's removing one link in either direction would surely affect the link count and could interrupt what is going on with google and your sites. Though if were talking a small amount of links that were removed ie. 1 or 2, I can't imagine there would be any impact negative or positive.

We use ActiveRain.com, any posts that we post in that blog will get indexed by Google.com. This has brought us TONS of one way (inbound) links.

You have to make sure you keep tabs on those sites that you trade links with. I believe there is software that can keep track of a site and let you know if your link is taken down by them, but in general, don't just trust someone to keep your link up on their site forever, because things happen and they may decide to pull a fast one on you. If you are unaware of it, they are getting the benefit of the link juice by having the link on your site and you lost yours, so I have found it is a good idea to stay on top of these people because you just never know.
