Laid Back Chat We are all friends here and sometimes we just want to chat. It doesn't have to be real estate web development all the time, some times we have a new baby in the family, sometimes we have a beef or boquet. Sit back and relax here.

I like the idea as well.

Not only for all agents, but specially for new agents and educating the public. I believe it will assist the public in understanding that agents are not as lowly as lawyers and most of us do have their best interests considered when selling their property.

The stipulations are fine with me as well. Name calling, name dropping is anti-productive.

When I hear ethics in real estate I think of NAR and right now NAR puts a bad taste in my mouth.

I'd love a forum on ethics!

I asked a question about marketing and ethics a month or so ago and the only response I received indicated my question was misinterpreted as a sneaky marketing effort.

And ethical Q/A forum might be a good way to avoid the concerns about being personal. The original poster asks a question and the responses are all answers to the question.

The forum would be a good way to shed light on hipocracies in all arenas.
I think the idea is spot on.

As far as specific posts, maybe a "questionable content" button that simply informs the poster anonymously that someone on the forum thinks they should review the content of their post and reconsider some of the content for editing or removal. Moderators would also get an anonymous notice too, something really over the line could be handled discretely and quickly limiting any unintended harm.

If anyone notices any of my posts being less than desirable, please feel free to PM me. It is far too easy to say something with unintended consequences.

Yeah sounds good to me. Any progress on the forum on ethics or any of the ideas tossed around here?

You are suddenly going to see a lot more use of the EDIT button where people go back and change what they had previously said. Posting here I often forget than anyone other than us reads any of this. Quite honestly I'd love to see the entire forum go private or invite only ( I only hope I'd be invited back). After a busy day of dealing with customers and clients I would prefer that I did not have to watch every word I typed in fear of upsetting someone or being taken to court. Let's keep this a place where friends can exchange ideas rather than a place where we have to watch out for the NAR cops. Speaking of which did I tell you about my bonehead client (Mr. Smith) I'm working with right now? He's willing to make an offer above the asking price of $1,200,000 on 1234 State Rd. which sold for less than $300,000 last year...
