Any ideas on why we keep falling off Google?
We're in a very competitive industry (real estate) and we're a new company but we've done a pretty good job link building and creating quality content and should be ranking a lot better in Google, but we keep falling in Google rankings (we had success a few weeks back). We have a lot of backlinks and quality content but we keep falling in Google for our main keywords. Our homepage doesn't even rank well at all (just sup. pages). Is it possible that we're partially penalized? I just can't figure it out and am hoping that one of you may know what's going on. Here are 2 things that I think the problem may be 1. I know our supplemental index ratio is about 86% - if this is the problem, why and how do I fix it? 2. We have a company helping our SEO efforts out - they have some automated system you can see their links at the bottom of our homepage related - resources - webring - SpyderMap They have several clients that do really well on Google so I'm not too sure this is the problem. website url is newhomessection dot com Anyways - any help would be much appreciated. I'm thinking its an on site problem because our off site is pretty solid. Thanks in advance |

OK
You need to do some article submission this is the best way to get free high quality back links, also do some social bookmarking. If they are an SEO company than they should have come accross any code errors, so you just need more links. |

justa quick comment here...
your sub pages can rank higher than your homepage for keywords since your sub pages can contain more focused (keyword-rich) content and links. might be a place to focus your efforts since you already say the sub-pages rank better than your home.

Domain age has been said to effect rankings. Keep plugging away and rankings will come. It takes time.

I am also looking at placing on google for keywords and have been successful in a number of variations.
I had the pleasure to interview with another agent about his website and we compared content and how to capture prospects to market to. His advise was very sage; His domain has been active for 12 years, and the content is timely and being updated. To compare mine, that has been active for about a year. His daily hit rate is around 500 to 750 hits, where I am humbly at half. I parked my website for four years and wondered why no one signed up. People may not buy a house on line, but they do their research here and I would like to be a quality source of information. As the Trusted agent they sought, I called and emailed their enquiries, to build trust and loyalty, I hope they will use me for their purchase or sale. I use the blog to put up neighbourhood information including advertising neighbourhood garage sales. Agents are generally not interested in maintaining a Site(S) and once put up and expect instant results. I have learned so much already from the members here at REW and I am very grateful for everyone's input.
