So I was cruising my HitTail account today, checking out my black river of keyword terms (which at this point could be called a trickling dried up stream bed) when I somehow stumbled upon a video that detailed a service provided by Connors Communications, the company that does the whole HitTail thing.

The service was very high-end (minimum spend of 25k per month). To my understanding, the way it works is that they use their HitTail technology in combination with your data assets to create a second web property that better solocits traffic. Then pushes the traffic onto your subject site. The second web property (again to my understanding, I could be wrong) runs mostly off of HitTail manipulated RSS feeds that are created from your data. They do this so that you do not have to "tear down and rebuild" or mess up your subject website with on-page SEO.

I wish I could find the video again but for the life of me I can not. I would love to hear some of your comments on this and do some strategic thinking on how to achieve this on a smaller (homegrown) level. I mean, we all know about blogging and RSS, and we kinda do this already with Morgan's Blogalytics concept. What intrigues me is the way the RSS feed is manipulated by the longtail keyword data.

As an overall comment about hit tail. I signed up for a free account a few weeks ago, but my site places so poorly in the search engines to start with I don't get any real data. *insert scream of frustration here*

I too would like some kind of hittail rss feed or query of the hittail data. Would it make sense to have a special blog page that queried the hittail account and created a daily blog page of the hittail hits? Could it be done as an information tool for visitors?

I would certainly enjoy learning more of what your thoughts are on the matter.

It's got to be more than that. 25k a month? I don't know. Seems to me that no company willing to spend that much on SEO wouldn't go for a glorified article spinner.
