That's exactly what I do. If I'm looking for major electronics, I go to Best Buy and see it in person. I look at it, play with it and decide if I like it. If I do, I go to Amazon, read reviews and if the reviews are positive, I'll buy it from Amazon for 30% less. And not pay any taxes.
