Congrats Steve! That is awesome! I am too chicken to have it done. I can't even put contacts in my eyes. Please post your progress in this thread over the next few weeks.

It's certainly not the most appealing surgery I've performed; but it was the one with the least amount of pain (there was none during the procedure).

My vision in my left eye is still a teeny bit blurry, but my right eye seems to be dead on. I'm told to give it a few weeks to months to heal to full, so I'll continue to monitor it.

I've noticed a sensitivity to fluorescent lights at the office, and with staring at a computer screen after about 30 minutes. Otherwise, I'm doing pretty good.

Thanks for the update Steve. Maybe after watching your posts I will build up the strength to actually go through with it. The sensitivity to fluorescent light should go away in time, right?

The photo sensitivity never goes away. I sometimes want to put my sun visor down when I drive at night, its insane.

I'm told it'll take a week or so, but I do see it improving every day. The only cosmetic thing I have going on right now is some bruising on my left eye from the device they put on your eye (looks like someone socked me in the eye), but that takes about 3 weeks to go away.

The scary part about the procedure is that you can't see for like 30 seconds, so it is like you are temporarily blind. The other wacky part is smelling your eye burning from the laser lol

Glad you went through with it?

I had both of mine done 11 years ago and am still slighty better than 20/20. I still have the videotape (yes VHS) of it that they gave me afterwards. Freaky to watch it now though...

Small update: My vision has been steadily improving every day, and now my left eye is spot on. I'm 100% sure I'm at 20/20 vision now, and the only bruising left is on the left eye. They said the bruising would not cause any eye problems, but in my case it did; it seems to be what caused my blurred vision. My sensitivity to light has also gone away; back to normal.

It's a tiny red line around my iris that'll probably be gone in less than a week.

This is one of the best things I've ever done. Feels like yesterday I was in the park, eating lunch, lifting my glasses up amazed at how horrible my vision was!
