How would they have any leads to sell if they didn't compete with you in the search engines?

Are you saying that a lead from a content rich site has more value (converts at a higher rate) than one from a site that has less content? Haven't looked at any data but it would seem that the content rich site would generate more leads but can't see how they would necessarily convert at a higher rate.

I have tried it both ways and I find that I get more registrations from a site that makes it easier to sign up(less reading). There is a good mudium here however. You have to have just the right amount of content to make them want to sign up. If you have a novel for them to read before they get to the registration part then you will barely get anybody signing up.

Close, I'm say that leads from an authority site are worth more than leads from a spam site. There are also degrees in the middle. However, this doesn't mean they need to read a novel to sign up either. Just that the site must have good content.

That's my point. Get out of the leads business.

Try adding more adsense and play around with the placement and type of ad units. Link units have worked well for me under the menu and at the bottom of the page. You may want to take a look at another wordpress template. The indomagz template is good but you will have to insert the adsense yourself i.e. replace the header image with a adsense banner ad, the youtube with a 336 x 280 ad and link unit under the menu.

Take a look as well at some of the wp adsense plugins like adsense manager and adsense injection.

Another way to monetize the blog is to sell banner ads to real estate agents or mortgage brokers. The indomagz template comes reader made with four 125x125 banners.
