It depends on how the lead was generated. If you paid for the lead and the lead is exclusive, I would hit them hard right away. If the lead was generated from a third party source and made available to many others as well, then a few contacts a week is sufficient. Those leads are being hit many times over by multiple people and their email box is probably exploding with offers.
