It is a good idea but you got to be careful in promoting your ideas because this may give your competitors an edge over your own strategies. They may be a copy cat and replicate your unique ideas. You can do this but got to be careful in not revealing your unique strategies and lose you moat. All the best.

I used to think that about not sharing ideas, and I actually had my unique business model ripped-off verbatim by a competitor. At first, I was extremely mad & frustrated.

however, now that I look back on it, we've become a far better company because of them.

I think social media works to stay in contact with people whom you've had previous contact, however, for finding new people there are better ways to spend one's time.

I beg to differ... Never before has there been such an easy and free way to talk to a very large group of people at one time without an agenda, forum, or anything needed to facilitate such an event. Even meaningless tweets about your day give a client an " I know this person feeling" Don't discredit such a great gift to your business.

I personally use Social Networking to procure clients all the time but definetaly not through promoting my real estate. I do it in directly through actually trying to build a relationship with someone. Over time I will put them on my monthly newsletter and continue to talk with them on a personal basis through facebook or what ever.
