Greatest Agent google results a few days after the competition.

So the Greatest Agent contest has been over for about 4 days and the results have changed significantly. My site was on page eight of google and now it's showing up on page 1. What happened to those eight pages of results that were in front of me? Did people just delete their GREAitW pages when the contest was over? Did they redirect them? Where did they go??? I've never seen eight pages of google results disappear so quickly.

Yeah. It's pretty crazy. I kind of expected it to happen, though. My Boris MySpace is on the 4th page still :/ But my personal blog has moved right underneath it. It was on page 10 before.

I will never forget that day my homepage was number 5 for Greatest Real Estate Agent In The World. I was so excited, I took a screenshot... and about 2 hours later, it was pushed back to page 10

Looks like a lot of competitors had their friends help them out, and the moment the competition was over, they either dropped the link or changed the anchor.

You bounced around on page one last week quite a bit on my DC - looks like you are coming out of the sandbox and it also looks like Google is counting kewords in the domain with some significant weight - I've been noticing that a bit more lately across the board.

Which Mike? I was excited about the contest for the first three weeks until I noticed there was not a chance in hell of staying page one without a lot of help. The last month and a half I've been so busy with business I've barely had time for anything web related other than checking e-mail and the MLS. My youtube video did a pretty good job of staying on the first and second pages, I attribute this to Borris and his singing talent

That's who I was talking about...Dammann shot up there as soon as he posted. It seemed to me like it took a while for the greatestrealestateagent domain to rank, but, did so partially (or maybe mostly) out of the fact that it was keyword rich. Don't be surprised if that domain doesn't keep getting higher as the effects of being new are removed...
