Default CMS2 PDF file - path for reference

Hi -

Can you tell me the full path name for a file (specifically PDF) that has been uploaded via the File Manager?

Thanks.

You can find this by creating a link in the WYSIWYG editor and selecting the PDF from the Link List menu of the resulting pop-up page. It will be something like this: /files/file_download.php?id=1. The full path would be http://www.yoursite.com/files/file_download.php?id=1

Vera -

Are these filenames static or dynamic? I will be uploading a file of the same name each month for new market data. I do not want to be required to change the links to this PDF file on each page every time I upload a new report.

In CMS1, the names are static and this works great. Is this different in cms2?

(I am working with Stephen on this).

Unfortunately, they are dynamic. Perhaps a solution would be to make a snippet with the link in it and include that on every page where you want to display the link. Then you could just change it in one place (yay modularity!). Or make it a main link...

OK - thanks for the workaround suggestion. I would prefer a static filename however - perhaps this is something you guys may want to consider "re" implementing - like the cms1 platform had.

Hi Mitch,

It's not something we are considering implementing on the CMS 2 platform - however - you could request a work order for something more custom that suits your needs.

Thank you,
