- Kevin here! And this is my scoop: I spent the first 18 years of my life in Kensington, Maryland, a couple miles north of Northwest Washington, DC. A decent soccer player, I was privileged (and lucky!) to get recruited to Stanford. Silicon Valley in the late 1990s was an amazing time. I remember campus buzzing about Google my freshman year (among many other .coms...most of which are gone!). I naturally gravitated toward an e-commerce and marketing track with Spanish mashed in between.
