No it's not bad as long as you limit your submissions up to 20-30 directories a day. It will make you some points through backlinks.

Submitting to directories is good and needs to be done properly. If you use good directories, proper title and submit to relevant categories, then it will surely help you in moving you up in search engines.

You may or may not get traffic from these directories, but ranking surely will improve.

I think real estate specific directories are the best... but the strength of the directory is also very important. i ran across a pretty good list of directories ranked by PR the other day:

I have only paid for a few link sites like Yahoo, the old Microsoft small business (forgot what it is/was called) and I think RE ABC (again forgot the name) other than that all I have ever done was reciprocal. I am interested in what I see at http://www.strongestlinks dot com/directories.php Seems very cheap for what they are offering and I am curious about 2 things.

1 - is this legit (being that it is so cheap)
2 - are this things considered link farms? As that is why I have always stayed away from them.

I see all these link services online charging $3-$7 a link in bulk so I must question why this is so cheap to have 50-100 PR5 one way links for only $10.

I always work on the principle that the only person that i can trust, 100% to do my link building and directory submission correctly is... ME! I must say that it does worry me when i see people offering silly amounts to submit using an apparent manual technique; immoveable isn't too bad, but we still recieve our fair number of spam submissions each day!!!
