yeah, after taking a couple "english" classes in university, i just can't forgive myself if my grammer is wrong...of course that makes it EXTREMELY difficult to read most online content

I am terrible at correct spelling - grammar etc. About 4 years ago I was on a listing appointment and I had some items we were reviewing in my listing presentation but I was interrupted mid way, turned out she was a teacher and she happily pointed out all my errors. I had someone edit it correctly afterward.

I guess it's not an appointment I will ever forget, I got their listing and sold it but I still cant spell worth a s***.

That was embarrassing. I guess it is due to the continuous development of English language in general.. At my age, I admit that i can't write and Speak in English perfectly.

I hate long, run-on sentences with lots of commas.

• Read the sentence aloud. If it reads like two or three sentences, make it so. Several short sentences are better than one huge one.
• Look for "and", "or", and "but" as sentence separators. It is OK to start a sentence with those words. It is sometimes preferred if the phrase following those connectors is or can be a free-standing sentence.
• Keep average sentence length to 12-16 words. Short sentences give emphasis. The shorter it is, the harder it hits.

Writing or blogging is more than the word usage and proper language. It's what is being said, with what words selected and not using too many to get the point across. Being concise, succint is just as big an artform as the substance being written about right?

Of course - the quality of the form is moot if the content lacks substance. I would argue that neither of these is sufficient on its own (though you can get away with poor form if the substance is super interesting and you're not trying to convince your users that you are professional and educated).

Reading the comments (the ones with unintentional errors) to this post is as enjoyable as reading the post itself! Thanks for the advice though. I screw up grammar and spelling quite often myself! ...Unintentionally of course.
