Default Sharing solutions

Just wondering in regards to this post if people here are going to get pissed if I or anyone else post our own solutions for getting data nightly, parsing it for mysql import, and displaying with php.

Does not seem like there really has been much sharing of that nature on here yet, so I was just wondering if it was banned.

When that topic comes up, it comes down to basic business.

REW (the forum we are on) is a company, that provides the service you are learning about

It is easy to learn about making your own IDX solution online. It would take awhile, but you could do it.

There are many webmasters on here, that don't use REW for one reason or another (I'm one of them ) with many different IDX solutions.

It's not that the topic is banned, it's just not really all that polite to describe ways to go around using other people's services.

Got ya, I see. I guess I was looking more for a place where developers were sharing. Being from the unix and then open source world, the cut-throat money mentality of everything related to real estate is taking some getting used to for me I see there is openrealty but once it gets to IDX everything is commercial.

Just trying to look for previous experience gotchas as I undertake project of presenting data from 12 different mlss on one website in a unified way for the small company I work for that covers a huge area. The project should be no problem, but seeing as I've got 1 Quest, 3 navicas, 2 innovias, 1 FNIS, 1 tempo, 2 rappatoni to deal with, just looking to save a little time Not that I would use a commercial vendor anyway, but I don't think any of them out there cover all of those anyway, nevermind putting putting them all into the same db structure.

I am sure I will share my experience so it will be out there online somewhere, but I will not post it here so as not to be impolite

First rule of Forum Club : I am not an employee of REW, nor a moderator. The above post was just my personal opinion (valued at roughly $0.02).
Second rule of Forum Club : When it doubt, PM an admin.
Third rule of Forum Club : Do not speak about forum club.

D'oh!

Good one. I appreciate your input no matter. You've been here longer than me and that counts 2¢ more than mine right now

webmaster will become famous soon enough

Honestly, that level of technical discussion would only benefit developers and competition for REW, it's not really what this forum is here for. This forum is more for "Realtors" who need help understanding the ins and outs of IDX and MLS solutions and providers than it is for "developers" although we welcome developers as members. I fear that if we started talking about unix etc, it would alienate 99% of our member base, so it doesn't make much sense.

Talking about Unix alienates 99% of most people, regardless of field

Even in my computer college, you bring up Linux, and most people walked away

And just because my $0.02 is older, doesn't make it better than anyone else's I just have some dirty pennies.
