I also use that tool. I find that there are many terms that return -0- results and I know that is not the case.

Often times, when the tool returns "0" results it is not working properly. Simply re-search the same word or phrase until you get results.

infortunately Overture is not accurate its almost as bad as Alexa for traffic estimation, if you want good estimations use:
- Google adword traffic estimator (then x20 the "result" to have an idea about the global traffic because according to google, this tool estimate that 5% of the users will click on the ads) - Google keyword suggestion (perfect to find all keyword combinations and synonym searchs) - Google trends (perfect to have an idea about the volume of searchs per month, season or year, and to have an idea about the evolution of a keyword) i think, those 3 tools are enough and perfect when you are searching keywords to target google search. cheers. |

SEOBook's tool is based on data from Overture, which has been down more than not, lately...
I use paid versions of Wordtracker, Keyword Discovery, and Wordze... they all return different results, but the trends are generally consistent.

Seomaster-
I haven't been using the Google adword traffic estimator. You can only get that by having a Google adwords account, right? I've been wondering for a while about it-- can anyone tell me: * Does it measure total impressions for an ad or total keyword phrase popularity (even if your ad doesn't display)? * Does it give data for a specific keyword phrase? Or does it measure based on general matches for a phrase?

https://adwords.google.com/select/Tr...timatorSandbox it measure and estimate the number of clicks that ur ad will get, however we know that they estimate that 5% will click on your ads, so just multiply the result x20 and u will have an idea about the global traffic - yes it gives you data for a specific keyword phrase. if you use this tool in combination with google trends you will have a very good idea about the popularity and evolution of the keywords. i'll never use any other tool to estimate the traffic, if i target google search then why will i use overture or another unknown database, when i have toots that will let me use google own updated and accurate database to do my keywords researchs. cheers. |

Anyone else using Wordze, btw?
This isn't a tool I was familiar with. What's the consensus? Is it worth the purchase, or is it pretty similar to the results you get in Google trends?

This is slightly off topic, but I always ask clients how they found us (what search engine, what did they type in) and I get some really odd answers. Search engines I have never heard of, or long search phrases you wouldn't think anyone would use.
Recently someone emailed me that they found me on Yahoo under "austin texas real estate mls listings". Anyway, we all shoot for those well known high traffic terms on Google, but when you ask actual clients they might say they found you while searching on WiseNut!

That's funny - whenever I am speaking of you Jim (Which is always highly of course) - I say "That Jim Olenbush, he is one wise nut

I do this and found out I needed to start using the word buy. This simple word has gotten me some pretty long tails.
