I think it does help your ranking with yahoo and msn.com because those guys do care about the nofollow rules. I found that when I am creating more Bl from yahoo answers my ranking in yahoo goes up.

I believe that Yahoo answers stop allowing hot links to sites. The odds that someone types in your site to the browser are low. People are lazy.
