Nothing really happened when my nofollow was removed. I still bounce between 4-7 on google for "my city" real estate.

The best I can determine is just keep plugging away and eventually you will get there. I am young, maybe the 2 older Realtors ahead of me will retire someday and shut their sites down.

Don't worry about them Ryan. You just have to out work your competition by adding more content, links, and other off-site marketing. With hard work you will pass them, it just may take time. Just don't give up man!

Awhile back I posted a test in this thread...

I'll run a test. My third signature link is currently "Spanish Oaks Homes For Sale" and I rank #1 for that keyword. As soon as I post this remark, I'll change my third signature link to "Spanish Oaks Austin" where I currently rank #11. I'll check the keyword, "Spanish Oaks Austin" in a few days or week and deliver the results. Should be interesting to see if there is any movement.

I just checked. I'm number #5 now for "Spanish Oaks Austin". I went from #11 to #5 for that phrase. I know we didn't do any other link building to that page. Seems conclusive that REW sig links are powerful...

I think one needs to check on what other links got built naturally before you assume is was do to signiture links. In addition there needs to be a larger sample of several sites and even better more than one page on each of those sites. This allows you to make a conclusion. Just my .02

I would say that REW sig links are the most powerful Real Estate related sig links on the web. The arguement is "how strong" are Forum Sig links. Cutts has said in the past how much he hates them.

I guess the idea is to have a broad diversified link program anyway. If you just stayed at this site and spammed sigs you would have a nice result (after 300) but if you were active in other sites and had unique content you really would attract Google.

I've read a strategy that seems good, but I haven't tried yet. You can analyze your competitors backlinks and link text and then copy their strategy. Theoretically, in time, you should catch up to them.

I've also read that Google purposefully omits some of the backlinks that it knows about when you do a link search, so the author suggests that you use Yahoo. Type "link:http://www.site.com" in Yahoo search to analyze backlinks.

The problem in my market is that Homes.com is in the top position, and they only seem to have backlinks from within their own site.
