If you don't want to bother with the ferry - adds a couple of hours to the travel time from Vancouver and even more from Seattle, you can take a big(ish) plane to Nanaimo - that's what I did last year or as I was asking about above - a float plane which is what I think I'm going to do.

Also I noticed last year - the Vancouver airport is going through a lot of expansion because the Winter Olympics are going to be held there next year.

Sue - you really should come - it will give you a different perspective.

What are you guys finding in flight costs? From Houston to Vancouver I'm seeing $450+ per person.

Steve,

It was 800 I think for me to fly into Vancouver, but it was close to 250 to fly into Seattle. Gotta add a rental car into the mix and ferry costs, but it still appears to be more economical then flying into Vancouver. Especially if you have a few people to split the car with (as I am anticipating)...

Airfare from Tallahasee to Vancouver is $715.

I am scheduling to arrive on the 29th I think and leave the 2nd.

Trying to keep costs down so doubt I'll take an island hopper to the nanaimo.

The Seattle trip is sound more promising all the time as the flight is $469 rt.

Carolyn...I know, I'm just a bit concerned with costs...like everyone else, I guess.

I'm a little late to the party but yes if you can come up early or stay late tigh-na-mara is a really great experience. But it's just one of so many things to do in the area.

I really would love to spend a week or two in the Pacific Rim National Park among other things. So many things to do in life and not enough time!

Our plan is to come up again, we had so much fun last year. I'm not sure yet how much time we will be able to spend though. Hopefully we get as lucky on the weather this year as last year, it was perfect!

The odds of the weather being nice mid-summer is pretty good here. I don't think we'll have anything to worry about. It should be nice!

MaryAnn and I really want to go again this year, we had a blast and anyone considering it should think of it as an investment. We learned so much from both the presenters and attendees, everyone was great about sharing their ideas and what they have going on.

If the market holds up we should be there but we are going to have to somehow find a way to leave the work at home this time and not be so rushed. Nice to see it is in July, that makes it easier for us to find someone to watch the kids since they won't be in school.
