I use GoDaddy and don't have any problems but you need to use their Linux servers as their Windows ones can't handle php.

I've been with Dreamhost since 2003. They have an easy one-click install for Wordpress and upgrades. The worst part about having a self hosted Wordpress blog is doing the updates. It takes less than 30 seconds with Dreamhost and couldn't be much easier.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I successfully started a self hosted blog using bluehost(thanks for the tips) and they are great. 24 hour support and I needed it! The temp address for it until I can get the domain switched over is 66.147.245.160 if you want to check out my hard work! Thanks for your support everyone!

Be careful with bluehost. They don't monitor their servers so hackers can roam around injecting iframes into unsuspecting sites. If your site gets hacked and the search engines find out your site is infected your site will disappear from the radar.
