I wonder if I can use this google # as a business number.. such that when a customer calls my personal iphone via google, the caller ID will identify the google number,...thus prepares myself for proper introduction. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes I hope you can set the caller id name. I'm also wondering if you can pick your own number, that would be cool.

Actually when you call out of GV it gives you the option to use the number you originally called from as the Caller ID. Thus you have:

My Cell > Google Voice > Destination Phone

Where the destination phone does not see the GV number.

Thats good to know. I CAN't WAIT TO GET INTO THIS PROGRAM!!! I love gmail and I google and now THIS! Consider me an addict already.

I got my account last week. Its very useful if you have an android mobile phone. When you dial out it will present the google voice number on caller id instead of your cell number. Also you can forward to a gizmo account and answer calls on your computer at no charge.

I JUST GOT MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!! I am testing it out now. So far I'm loving the way you get to pick your own number - you can search by keyword.

You can't get a second account at any price. However, I would gladly pay for one for each of my agents. The coolest feature is that you can route calls to different destinations, like voice mail etc based on contact groups ( or unkown callers) and base it on time of day

I think it's nice in meetings where it sends me a text of the voicemail left. (The Google voice app for my blackberry). I can read it and then clear it from my voicemail later.

I have to admit, I also like listening in to someone leaving me a voicemail, and break into the conversation if I wish.
