Is this a must have link? Alot of Real Estate companies have it in my area. Should i pay for it? I rank fine without it, what would it do to help me?

Do you think you can get more of an SEO advantage using that money buying several links on other sites? How much is it?

I think a link from Yahoo is an excellent SEO play.

It's not just 1 link. You usually end up on yahoo canada, yahoo russia, yahoo UK, etc.

Its not a must have - but if you are out of ideas & have some money to spend, not a bad pick up. (You could do a lot worse.)

I've always found other places to spend my money.

Coming from you, that's certainly good advice, although it looks like you've done a LOT of work to get your sites where they are.

Of the efforts I can see (blog commenting, owning and maintaining multiple hyper-focused sites, and blogroll link exchanges), what do you think has the highest impact?

Establishing true, authentic relationships is by far and away #1. (I'm not talking link swaps.)

It gives you a venue for brain storming, and the ability to monitor & share ideas with one another.

And quite simply, if you have friends watching your back and you are watching theirs - you very rarely are caught flat footed.


If you are just spending your time always looking for the next link, it becomes very difficult to create those relationships.

Definitely a lot of work/effort. But it pays off in so many other ways to help/improve your business (beyond just SEO).

Paying for a Yahoo directory listing seems like a never ending debate. The bottom line it is a high quality link that will give your site some great G! authority. There are still a few must have paid directories and Yahoo iis still near the top of the list.

What are some other must have paid directories? I haven't paid for anything, but perhaps I should to gain an advantage.
