I just did Joe Ant, Yahoo, Bussiness.com and one other. I paid over 1000 Dollars to get in all these.

If I'm not mistaken the Yahoo Directory is about 300 bucks a year. Absolutely, your money can be spent better elsewhere.

Yahoo Directory is not to good from what I've heard.

I recall being ranked well in Yahoo several years ago, then paid to get in the Y Directory, disappeared from Y Search, said to hell with the $300 yearly fee, when directory went away, the site got search results and traffic from Y again. Go figure!

Has anyone that has paid for the Yahoo listing, seen any gains in Google placement? Do you recall upward movement weeks after you were in their directory? It seems to me that it'd be tough to track (with all other variables going on at the same time).

I figure if you're in a super competitive market and want to jump the guy in front of you that you've been gunning for, it may be wise to pick it up. But if you're like me just trying to get from page 3 or 4 to page 2 or 1, waiting a year or two may be just as well.

What is the daily average that most people spend on the Yahoo paid links?

I'd say "just go for it". If you have an established website that you've been doing offsite SEO on, it'd be nearly impossible to do an isolated test anyway.

Yahoo directory links are high-authority links, and you're not just picking up one... You're picking up at least a dozen because of yahoo canada, yahoo US, yahoo China, etc.

Many people say it's not worth the money, but it's the equivalent of $25 a month... I don't know about you, but I'd much rather write a check than do work to get a link like that.

Yahoo's backlink has some of the highest authority available. If not the highest of a paid backlink. A majority of the other paid backlink sites do not carry nearly as much authority.
