if you haven't already, upon gaining access to SSH2, you will need an FTP client that supports SFTP. They are everywhere, just not all do support SFTP. forgot to mention that earlier.
but yes, make sure your host is keeping an eye on their servers. do some searching on the net, read reviews, etc., as nothing can be more of a headache than a poor host provider.
I'm with HostGator, and have had no problems thus far (over a year now), and setting up SSH2, SSL (Secure Socket Layer /
https://), dedicated ip address, and so on, have been a breeze. they allow full control over your domain, including your php.ini file which is nice (for PHP developers).
