Finding Pages That Are Not Indexed
When I search in google for "site:www.mywebsitename.com", I get a result of about 350 indexed pages. Well, OK. Not as many pages as I would like to have indexed, but give it time.
Recently, I have been getting 1 or 2 registrations per day on my website from people that are searching for a specific address or MLS #--long tail searches. Google seems to be putting my detail listing pages in the #1 spot on the search results and people are clicking through to me. Great!
Now here's the interesting part. When I scroll through the 350 or so pages that google has indexed for me, these pages that people are finding on long-tail searches ARE NOT in my indexed pages. So, how is google finding these pages if they are not indexed?
Apparently, these are "stealth" indexed pages that people are finding. I wonder how many of my web pages google knows about, but won't admit it!
Anyone have some insight on what's happening here? Thanks!
