When you hit save, it should just be saved, not published.
Some platforms (I know wordpress has this) has an edit option near where it says publish immediately (right above the blue publish button, if you are using wordpress). You can set the date and time the post will be published onto the blog this way. I'd assume other platforms have this option too, but I'm not sure. Hope that helps.
