There are a couple ways that you can do this. 1st is to sign up with the other company first before telling your current broker. Then let them know that you have decided to go with a different company. You don't want to piss them off because you will be doing deals with this company some time down the road.
2nd is to let your current broker know that you are exploring different opportunities and that one came about. Let them know why you are considering moving; commision, better location ect... They might just match their commion besides the 14k part. Just remember, real estate is all about location. because you are new, you need to be in a good office that has walk by traffic so you can pick those people up as clients. location, location, location.
