Default Google's Patent: Information Retrieval Based on Historical Data

Every once in a while I re-visit this article as I have it bookmarked in one of my Firefox 'startup' folders.

It's worth a study for all of us interested in more effective SEO.

Overview of the 5 Most Critical Concepts from this Paper

These 5 concepts are what I believe to be the most ground-breaking and important for search engine optimization professionals to understand in order to best conduct their work.

http://www.seomoz.org/articles/googl...t.php#overview

BTW, as you read the entire article, remember a concept or two, then let's discuss them here.

I forget, does cleaning your cache also remove saved passwords? Because I don't think I can remember half the passwords I use for sites.

By the way, that article was pretty informative. Thanks for posting it pcdoc.

If you are referring to the ability of the Firefox browser to store passwords, then the answer is no.

Good article... I'll have to read more to digest.

I have the alexa toolbar on another computer that I use at work, and if I go to Alexa's site to check my A#, they usually show the past sites that I've been on. It seems that data collection is pretty easy.

Also, there is a setting on googles toolbar that allows you to send tracking information to Google. I figured since I'm going to be regularly on my site (s)... in the end hopefully it might add up to something...

I think its interesting how google mentions that they look for the uniqueness of anchor text. I think that implies it is probably better to get links with different anchor text instead of focusing on just one.

It's not the browser's cache that need cleaning, it's removing the g**gle cookies from your hard drive. The cookies store parameters about your previous searches, trying to taylor your search to g**gle's benefit.

The "g" boys call it localized search, I contend that it's 1984 all over again ;-)
