That isnt correct at all - naming your images will help for "image search" you know when you do a search for something on google and click on "images" but from an onpage perspective it will not help bolster your content in any way.
Really though, you should not do this anyways - you should be naming an image what it is, not a keyword. Eventually (And this is much the way it is now) search engines will figure out the "quality" of the site, not "the site with the most keywords in the most places" - as such you should do everything for your user, not the search engine, if your site is the best, it will shine (Disclaimer: Not to say doing SEO is bad, because that is how I make my living, just saying not a fan of cramming keywords everywhere)
