Default No Follow Tags

When I go to check my backlinks I notice that links from this forum have a no follow tag. Does that mean that the links in my signature are worthless here? I'm guessing that the no follow tells the googlebot not to follow the links right?
Thanks

You have to get a post count of 300 (I believe) before the links become no-follow. That means you'll have to stick around and do some quality posting.

That is the general idea, but I have seen Google display nofollows as backlnks.

Google will still recognize and display links that are nofollowed... the theory is that Google won't give it any credit/linkjuice - although I've seen Google give linkjuice to nofollowed links, if that's what you meant.

I always thought that the nofollow tag was used to alert the crawlers that links on a particulr page might not be posted by the site owner, but rather by visitors to the site...like blogs. Then the crawler could use it's descretion as to wether the link is a valid resouces for the page it's coming from. This allows site owners to let others post links to their sites without risking penalty...
