Default Weird Supplemental Results

I just did an info check on my Oak Lawn Real Estate site (middle link in sig) & for the first time I saw some very weird supplemental results with urls like:

oak-lawn-real-estate dot com/?q=Travel%20Insurance - 2k - Supplemental Result -

oak-lawn-real-estate dot com/?q=Car%20Rental - 2k - Supplemental Result -

oak-lawn-real-estate dot com/?q=Travel%20Insurance - 2k - Supplemental Result -

and many more urls like this covering Chat, Jobs, Stocks and many, many more. How did this happen? Where are they getting these urls? They're not from me.

It looks like someone has created actual pages for these urls with ads on them. When I checked one of the pages that was cached there was this in a box: "These terms only appear in links pointing to this page: www.oak-lawn-real-estate.com"

So someone has created these many links and have them pointed to my site? Is this going to hurt my site? Is there anything I can do about it?

Looks like since these weird pages came up my site has been going through a deindexing and more supplemental results on my actual pages.

Not a clue about the pages, but I don't think they will hurt you unless you link back. I know you won't do that. I have found my url on strange sites with tons of spam including porn. Hasn't hurt me a bit.

They can hurt you since they are duplicate content.

Judyo, this may be from your blog. There are programs out there that search for blogs to post to in an automated way so as to create links to their own sites. Usually they are typicall spammy sites such as gambling, discounted viagra, etc. The programs autofill in comments to blogs hoping that they appear automatically versus getting deleted by the blog host.

With my blog all comments must be approved and every week some of these programs try to post comments to my blog w/ links back to their sites, but I just delete them each week before they go live.

That's my theory on it.

Jay, it's not my blog. I have to approve all comments, too, and delete 95% (or more) of them since they are just spam. Plus, my blog has /blog in the url, which these don't.

Bob, do you know what I can do about this? Do I contact Google? What do I tell them?

Then that's freaky and I'd be mad as hell!

Let me know what you find out in the end...just in case it happens to me!

Judy, I think I may have an answer for you - if you remember (How could you forget) when that domain got stolen from you, the person who took it put up one of those PPC spam pages with links to all sorts of categories travel, insurance etc - my guess is that those pages were spiderable at one point, and you are seeing a very old index of cached pages.

Certainly those pages do not exist on your site, and never have as an REW client so its either that old spam site that was there for a time or someone is referring you traffic with appended referring ID's which I dont really know why they would want to do that.

I was wondering about that since that was the kind of page that was up with that domain buyer guy. This is just the first time these have come up so Google's supplemental results are really going wacky. In fact, I think I noticed an old Point2 page coming up and that was before the lost domain.

My only concern is, because it is dupe content will it hurt my site as it currently stands? These pages no longer exist so I guess it's a G problem?

its definitly not dupe content in the real sense as those pages dont exist - it is a problem with G not flushing their cache properly and showing old data - there is really nothing you can do on your end to make G get rid of pages that arent on a domain any more. I would leave it alone.

How does one steal a domain from another person? How do we protect our domain from this?
