Just received a quote for Saint Petersburg FL FTP listings from the board, and it was a little higher than what I expected... $500 for setup, and $1500 a year...
Does this sound right for FTP downloads? They have a framed solution for 300/yr... which I might do because of the costs... Any of you have any experience with the general costs for listings or IDX feeds/plug in solutions.

is that price for just giving you access to the FTP download? or what?
are you a member of the board? realtor....broker...etc??

I am going to assume that is just for the raw datafeed, not a solution - although it is quite a lot higher than the average, it is nowhere near the highest I have heard - try becoming a vendor for SOCAL
probably not to your liking unless you are into paying $2500 a month for Data

so I assume we're talking about 3rd parties getting access to the data?
they don't even offer that around here; only brokers get access. So I suppose expensive access is better than no access.... 2500 a month though....that's gotta hurt the bottom line. ouch.

You know what, we just had a client come up against what I think is exactly the same board are you dealing with Pinnelas? If so, is there any alternatives such as an FAR feed?

Yup, it's Pinellas, and I'm getting the data for a member of the board. Funny, from what I read on Planet Realtor, they indicated that you could have access for free from your respective boards if you were a member. (not that I was expecting free access, but something at least reasonable).
I'm going to check to see if there are other options. If it is access to the 5th district (a much bigger area), well, I can justify cost there... As far as the potential for a FAR feed, the person that I spoke to was an account manager and not as tech oriented. She was helpful, and suggested that I speak to one of their IT guys about other options. Hopefully there are some other options, or potentially an IDX company that they use that has other solutions available. I'd like to use the listings/advance searching and higher level functionality for information capture if possible... I'm still a little early in the process; in the end, I'll conform to what's available.

Ouch, and that 2500/mo for SoCal... that's really a bit high.
I'm a broker still in NY, and have been in MA & GA, but I do lending in FL now... amongst other things... thinking as a seller of property, I'd want my property listed on all member sites so that I could have as much promotion as possible. A 2500/mo feed could hurt the seller, restricting their property information from fully reaching the market... just some 2cents there, but... that really is an ouch for 2500/mo.
