Looking at traffic from search engines I get 73% from Google, 19% from MSN and the rest from various others. Nothing out of Yahoo. A few from directories, but nothing significant. Looking at referrals I get 52% from Google, 23% from MSN, 6% from my blog and the rest from various other places. Not getting placement from Yahoo doesn't bother me, but are these numbers what I should expect?

It is something that changes depending on your area - for instance, those users in Washington (Highly populated by microsoft employees) will see a much greater amount of traffic from MSN, as it is a microsoft engine

In terms of what I see with sites that have equal placements on each engine I get about 60% Google, 20% yahoo 20% MSN <<< This is way up for MSN, 2 years ago I got almost nothing so they must be gaining market share.

Once again though, this will vary from site to site, and from area to area

Is the PPC working out for you? I've noticed some of the bigger players in our market using PPC. As a new agent, I am considering PPC while I work on getting our site ranked well organically.

when I first started I was a big number guy...not lately. been weeks since I last checked if not months. but I assume most of my traffic are organic and from Google..

PPC started out being a way to generate lots of traffic and leads quickly, since I moved into a new market where I had no sphere at all. It turns out that the quick and profitable results have kept me from getting back to basic SEO work on my site. I guess that is not all bad but now I am realizing I still have a lot of work to do (or hire out to someone else) to be able to start generating more organic traffic.
