I remember a Google update in November 2005 and November 2004. There is speculation that Google does an update in November so the retailers have to increase PPC spending for the xmas season. Any predictions if we will see one this month? I have not been following Matt Cutts blog lately. Has he mentioned anything?

I don't remember if it was Matt's blog or a GoogleGuy post on WMW, but I read that their position is that the Oct/Nov releases and major re-indexing push are timed so that SERPs can be established and adjusted as needed for retailers and others who have updated their sites with new pages and products for the holiday season, and so that there will not be any major and disruptive updates in the middle of the season, not to drive more PPC advertising. Two ways to look at it I suppose.

Hi - Matts keeping pr updates up his sleve! I'm under the impression that G's next update will be in Jan, as the "last one was a long drawn out" and still going on! i check datacentres daily and this week seen movement crazy!



Anyways Marc, your site i think has to be the most requested "clone" ive seen, on GAF usually 2 or 3 a week post "clone me (your sarasota site url)" -crazy - even i've had a copy ish - oopps hope im not in trouble! pm me for the url

Disco beat me to the punch with the fall weather forecast..(grin). I do not anticipate any major changes until Jan or so...(my opinion).

For the record or those who might be new reading this, ths does not mean that Google's search engine results for a given keyword won't change during this time. It simply means that (in my view) Google doesn't want to change the rules of the game in the middle of the holiday season (where e-commerce is such a HUGE priority).

As REALTORS, our seasonality is a bit different....

Note: PR changes all of the time...the (kind of ) quarterly "PR Update" is more like simply publishing the results that are already there.
